1 DAY TO DEPARTURE

We had an extra day before our ship came in and we had almost finished packing so we decided to do some "training" for the trip.  We took the XPT to Melbourne on Saturday sitting in the very comfortable daysitter cabin.

Spent a wonderful day watching Bevan and Vanessa and 1600 other incredibly fit and determined people swim, ride and run in the Asia-Pacific Ironman Championship at Frankston.  Unfortunately they both had to retire shortly after we took these photos. Looking forward to a link to Bevan's race blog if he does one. He did a great swim and bike ride but had stomach problems on the run.

We drove Bevan's rental car to St Kilda pier, where the race finished then caught a tram back to Southern Cross Station and sat up all last night coming back on the XPT. All good practice in navigating in a strange city and enduring long train journeys.

ONE WEEK TO D-DAY

We went for two bike rides this week.  Tuesday from Woy Woy to Gosford and back. Friday from the Entrance to Chittaway and back.  We should be ready to ride from Amsterdam to Brussels at the end of May.  We have paid for all our overseas bookings and collected some international currencies.  Now to pack out bags.
