The port bus took us to Mt Maunganui and gave us a tour of the area. He challenged us to climb Mauao, the 234metre hill above. He does it in 20 minutes. We took 35. A million people a year climb it and several thousand past us on our way.
Fantastic views from the top and beautiful weather after the cyclone. We spent a lot of time walking along the bay and ocean beaches.
