DAY 193 THURSDAY OCTOBER 4 HOTEL BUSAN

We found the area that our motel was in to be not very pleasant and it lacked a few things, so we decided to move to the Busan Tourist Hotel for the last 5 days in Korea.  They charged us $115 a night but it was a disappointment.  The wifi is only in the lobby and our room is on floor 11.  There is no power outlet in the lobby so we can only use the wifi till the battery runs down.  The room is slightly better but there are not as many stations on the TV. No Australia Network. Bottled water is usually free but here they charge $2 per bottle from the minibar.  We walked up the nearby shopping street and found plenty of good shops and a very large market area with tiny shops that mostly sell clothes.  We bought six DVDs in NTSC format for $18 the lot.  We can watch them on the Macbook on the ship.  There is another big shopping centre under the main road next to the Metro. Generally there are more shopkeepers here than customers.
We bumped into a few Australians shopping and guessed that they were in port on the Princess Cruise that we had inquired about in March.  We had asked to join the cruise in Asia to get back to Sydney but they were not interested unless we did the whole trip.  We have had no reply to our email we sent to the CMA-CGM agent here.

In the afternoon we visited the Lotte Department Store.  Not many "departments".  It consisted of eight floors of expensive brand name perfumes, cosmetics, jewellery, and clothing.  Mostly women's stuff.  In the basement there was a food hall where we got a cheap meal for $5 each and watched the "Aquatique" musical fountain which runs for ten minutes on the hour.  It is about four stories high and water comes down through coloured lights as well as shooting up from the floor. Largest indoor fountain in the world of this type. Very Impressive. Try to get a video of it tomorrow.
