DAY 74 THURSDAY JUNE 7 STAGE 4 IRELAND

Hazelwood House had a big dining room downstairs.  We went in for a full Irish breakfast which was included in the 35 euro price. At 9.35 we boarded the Belfast Express at Connolly St.  The first class coach is modelled on the Eurostar and was just as good as the Virgin one yesterday. The steward offered us a meal, but we settled for an orange juice as it was only 40 minutes to Drogheda.

Joan Dorey picked us up in her car and immediately made us wecome with a big hug. It was raining but we filled in the day with cakes and big meals and family photos. During the afternoon we visited St Peters Church where we saw St Oliver Plunkett's head. We also visited the Art Gallery and Slane Castle.

We passed St Patricks Hill where he lit a fire to announce that Christianity had come to Ireland. We saw some thatched cottages and the site of the Battle of the Boyne. Jimmy cooked us a lovely dinner.
